"For each of us there is some mission in life if we but find it. All have some definite thing to do, something for which they have been created; and only the doing of this thing will justify their existence here on earth. If we come into the world and occupy space and time without giving back for this privilege, we have not justified ourselves, and our lives in the end are barren." ~ Hay

A BIG year 2013!!

Please take a deep breath and set your intentions for 2013.  Change is on the horizon and it’s your chance to become a part of it.  On December 21,2012 we entered a new era.  Yes, we are at the very beginning of massive positive change.  There is an abundance of universal energy available to those who wish to transform not only their lives in a positive direction but humanity as well.  It’s time to manifest change.  Are you ready?

The first step is to state your intentions.  Please be very specific as to what you want.  This will allow the Law of Attraction to activate.  I invite you to write down your intentions.  I will share with you some of mine to serve as an outline or model for your own.  Do not put a limit on it.  Please know that the Universe works on the principle of abundance.  Yes, there is enough for everyone.  Also, once you state your intentions, the Universe will start opening doors.  You must walk through them.  How many doors will you walk through in 2013?

I will be writing a thorough list of intentions for 2013 and sharing it with a special someone; more about that next week.  Today, I want to share with you the format for writing your intentions.

A few of my intentions for 2013

1.      2013 will bring me an abundance of money.  I am willing to receive monetarily for my efforts.  Being paid for my value will enable me to be financially independent and also have money available for future creative projects which will benefit all of humanity. J

2.     2013 will bring me balance.  I am willing to structure my life in a way that I have time for work, responsibilities and play.  All components of my life will see improvement due to razor sharp focus and organization.

3.     2013 will bring me love.  I am grateful for every single person that is a part of my life.  I consider myself extremely blessed to have such amazing friends and family.  2013 will enrich this by bringing me my soulmate.

4.     2013 will bring me career success.  I will be recognized and rewarded for my work.

See how it is done?  I want you to be even more specific…providing details!  Do not leave anything out so the Universe brings you exactly what you are looking for.  I am writing my specific intentions this weekend.  We will discuss them in next week’s blog.   Time to put on your thinking cap!  What do you want in 2013?
Working on my intentions!

Letting Go

How did we get to the end of the year already?  As 2012 comes to an end, it’s time to close the door to people, places or things that no longer serve you.  Is there something in the way that is preventing you from moving forward?  If so, it’s time to make the final sweep so you are ready for new doors and opportunities in 2013.  Yes, change is in the air.

In the final days of 2012, can you say goodbye to someone who has deeply hurt you?  Can you say goodbye to someone who doesn’t allow you to grow both emotionally and spiritually? Can you say goodbye to a cheating spouse?  Can you say goodbye to addictions you may have such as alcohol or drugs? Can you say goodbye to procrastination? Can you say goodbye to self-loathing?   It’s time to look in the mirror and love yourself for exactly who and what you are.  If someone else cannot accept that, it’s time to let them go.   Big changes are never easy.  We often feel like the rug has been pulled out from under us and we are falling fast.  Sometimes we need to fall because that leads to periods of growth and learning.  By studying and analyzing our mistakes we can break them down and search out their meaning.  This often takes time and some quiet reflection, but is necessary so we do not continually repeat our mistakes.  When we close doors it may hurt because we lose the comfort of what we knew.  It takes time to get comfortable again, but it will happen…but only if we close the door.  So shut it!  Remember that letting go and forgiveness go hand-in-hand.  It is process, but you cannot let go of something or somebody without forgiving them.  This will allow you to not look back and, instead, move forward.  If this is difficult for you, please seek outside counseling to help deal with the unresolved feelings.

January 1, 2013 starts a brand new year.  It’s a fresh start to attract what you truly want in life.  We have entered a new age and it will be different from what we knew life to be.  It’s all good, but you have to be ready, willing and able to accept it.  Can you accept the good that is coming your way even if it is different than what you knew?  Come back to this blog next week, as I set new intentions for 2013.  I am very encouraged that this will be my best year yet and it will be yours too, but first, in these final days of 2012, FORGIVE & LET GO!

What is happening to our youth?

I must say a few words about the tragedy in Connecticut.  We may never know the true story as to why a young man (20 years old) would go into an elementary school and start shooting innocent children.  There isn’t a person on this planet that is not affected by this horrific act of violence.

As a Health Coach and Educator, I am very concerned about this generation of children who are growing up without the proper nutrients.  When our body doesn’t get what it needs it affects the brain and our thinking processes.  If our blood is tainted with chemicals, GMO’s and other synthetic foods, this gets pumped to our brain causing the individual to behave in ways that can be detrimental to the individual or society.  Instead of recognizing someone’s mental state as a lack of nutrients, doctors put these individuals on prescription meditation which further depletes the immune system.  Side effects from medication have not been studied, especially someone who has been put on numerous medications at one time.  This is very concerning and alarming and must be changed.

It’s time to change the way in which we live to one that is in balance and harmony with the Earth.  We can no longer live in a way that depletes the Earth of her natural resources; we must go back to growing food organically retaining all the beneficial nutrients in the soil.  Collectively, we must find solutions so there is enough for everyone.

I send my love and prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy.

Here is the link from my Radio Show on Friday, WakeUP & Live, where I discuss the tragedy in Connecticut with my special guest Alissa Bickar as well as how to keep your thoughts positive.

Master Shift Global Meditation 12.12.12

Dear Readers:

I have been extremely busy organizing the Global Meditation for 12.12.12.  This has been an absolute joy and pleasure for me.  The entire process has been effortless especially since I’ve been very fortunate to share this project with an absolute brilliant group of people.  I personally have grown through this experience.  I have seen changes within myself over the past seven months that are indescribable.  Each new day I wake up a different person learning from the lessons of the day before.

I invite you to join the rest of the world this Wednesday, December 12th at 9:30 PM for a Worldwide Meditation.  The meditation is free and can be found on our YouTube Channel:  http://www.youtube.com/user/MasterShiftVideos?feature=watch ; our website:  http://www.themastershift.com/The_Master_Shift/Home.html  and facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheMasterShift?ref=hl#!/TheMasterShift  The meditation is under 30 minutes.  All that is required is that you sit and listen to it.  The first broadcast will be 9:30 PM Japanese Standard Time for the Eastern Hemisphere.  The second broadcast will be 9:30 PM Eastern Standard Time for the Western Hemisphere.  This is a synchronized meditation meaning that everyone around the world will be thinking the exact same thoughts at the same time.  This will raise our planet’s vibrational energy field directly before the planetary alignment on December 21st and 22nd.  This is a time of new beginnings; a time of trust, love, cooperation, unity and peace.  Please join the celebration for this is an exciting time in our history.

Much Love,

Christine Segal

We Have The Right To Know

We have the right to know.”  That sounds reasonable….doesn’t it?  Why wouldn’t we want to know something especially when it comes to our health?  Don’t you think we have the right to know the ingredients of something that we put in our mouth?  After all, what we eat makes up our cells, skin, organs, tissues…our entire body!

California recently tried to pass a proposition allowing for the labeling of GMO’s or genetically modified foods. (Prop 37)  It did not pass.  I actually find it hard to believe that voters voted against such a measure.  Monsanto and other “invested” companies in favor of GMO’s fought the initiative with millions of dollars in advertising trying to sway votes against the proposition.  It appears to have worked.   Who knows if there was any voter fraud?  How would we know? (Just saying!)

The Right to Know Movement is growing.  Grassroot efforts are stirring in various states such as Connecticut and here in New York to get GMO’s labeled.  This past week, I met with the New York Right To Know Group in N.Y.C.  New York State does not have a ballot initiative like California and other States.  In order to get GMO’s labeled in New York, it must be done the old fashioned way…the legislative representatives have to vote.  There is GMO legislation which was drafted in 2011 which is sitting idle.  The bill will be resurrected or new legislation drafted.  I cannot give out our strategy, but if you want to help get involved in this movement, please send me an email at Christine@innerbeautyworkshops.com.  Also, please join this facebook page for updates and current information.  https://www.facebook.com/GmoFreeNewYork

Top Five Tips For Staying Healthy During the Holiday Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….for other people.  That’s right; we put the welfare of others in front of our own as we scurry about cooking, shopping and preparing for the holidays.  The Holiday season is extremely busy and can be very stressful if we do not make time for ourselves.  Here are five tips you can incorporate to keep the holiday cheer….
I'm still smiling!

1.       Eat three healthy meals a day.  Do not skip meals because you are extra busy.  Take the time to sit down to a good meal that is homemade, organic and GMO free.  Getting your nutrients is crucial to your physical, mental and spiritual health especially this time of the year.  Make the crockpot your best friend if you do not have time to cook.

2.       Get a good night’s rest.  Please rest your head on the pillow between 10:00 – 11:00 PM.  Your body rejuvenates itself at night.  It’s crucial for your body to revitalize itself so you have extra energy to execute additional chores and responsibilities.

3.       Make a date with yourself.  Can you spare one half hour per week to do something for yourself?  How about trying reflexology?  This time of the year we are always on the run and our feet get tired. Our feet have nerve endings that connect with our organs and other systems throughout the body.  Having the entire system massaged through the feet will help you to relax and eliminate stress.  Of course, you can always ask a spouse or significant other to provide the service for you.  Then it is free!

4.        Whistle while you work.  We must accept “what is.”  As we go through life’s chores, we can either look at it from a positive or negative mindset.  Acceptance of “what is” will enable us to remain cheerful.  A smile is contagious.  Smile at people in the stores and see how much better you feel.  You will brighten their day as well as your own.

5.        Express gratitude for the wonderful gifts in your life.  There is a saying; “ You will never get what you want until you are thankful for what you have.”  How often do we not realize how blessed we truly are.

The Master Shift – Global Meditation 12.12.12

As you all know, I am involved with a group of people who are providing a guided global meditation to the world on 12.12.12.  We call ourselves “The Master Shift.”  Here is the link to the website:  www.themastershift.com.

The way the meditation will work is that it will be broadcast twice on 12.12.12.  The first time will be at 9:30 PM JST (Japanese Standard Time) for the Eastern Hemisphere and the second time at 9:30 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time).  The reason why we broke it up into two time periods is because of the vast array of time differences around the world.  This guarantees maximum participation.

The idea for the meditation came from this quote from Edgar Cayce, ”If ten people sincerely pray/meditate it can save a City; if twenty-five a Nation.”  There are two important points about this quote.  First, the meditation needs to come from a sincere place.  We have seen from the enormous response that people from around the world wholeheartedly believe in this project and have a sincere desire to participate as do we!  That is really heartwarming to our team.  The meditation will be broadcast on December 12th on YouTube from our channel “MasterShiftVideos” at no charge for anyone participating.  Second, we must have twenty-five people per nation.  In order for the meditation to be a success we need 4,900 participants according to Cayce because there are 196 countries.  We continue to market the project and have received help from Julian Lennon and his charitable White Feather Foundation.  Here is our recent video promoting the event.  Please watch and share on your social media sites.

If you have some time, please listen to Friday’s show, WakeUp & Live on Freedomizer Radio.  My special guest Joe Turchiano and I discuss what it means to be “spiritual.”

WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Geoengineering

Please whatever you do, do not put your hands over your ears.  Ignorance is not bliss.  In today’s world it is important to foster awareness of the world around you…even the world above you!

This past week, I spent some time watching two movies on Geoengineering.  The first movie was “What in the World are they Spraying;” and the second movie was “Why in the World are they Spraying.”  Both movies can be found in their entirety on YouTube.  I recommend during your spare time, you create some awareness by watching these two movies.  According to Wikipedia, Geoengineering is the “deliberate large scale intervention in the Earth’s climate system in order to moderate global warming.”  In the name of “global warming” airplanes are spewing out chemicals, also known as “chemtrails” into the atmosphere to deflect the sun’s rays upon the planet.  Testing of ground soils has found these three chemicals in particular that have fallen out of our skies: aluminum, barium and strontium.  Here are two ways this effects human health and what you can do about it:

Look up in the sky!

First, aluminum is accumulating in our soils.  This changes the PH of the soil so heirloom plants, or the plants our grandparents grew, have trouble growing.  How heroic for Monsanto to come to the rescue and offer seeds to farmers that can grow in aluminum rich soils.  http://www.scribd.com/doc/4296843/US-Patent-5003186-Stratospheric-welsbach-seeding-for-reduction-of-global-warming-spraying-with-aluminum-.  This shows how important it is to compost and grow our own food as well as purchase food locally from farmers you can trust.

Second, by blocking the sun’s rays from reaching the earth, we are creating what’s known as global dimming.  As a result of less ultra-violet light, we have a population with severely low vitamin D levels.   What is your vitamin D3 level?  If you do not know, I recommend you have your blood level tested by a trusted physician.  There are supplements you can take on a daily basis to get your numbers within range especially if you live in a cool weather climate.  We need to be aware of our vitamin D levels as it is an important hormone that assists our immune system.

We have to be our own advocate.  By accumulating awareness about what is happening in the world today we arm ourselves with knowledge which will keep us protected and safe.  It will enable us to make informed choices and help us to assist others.  Please take the time to watch these films to educate and inform yourself.
aye aye aye

Hurricane Sandy-A lesson learned

As you know, Hurricane Sandy made landfall early Monday evening.  Here on Long Island, we had over 80 mile per hour winds which took down power lines.  Schools have been closed all week as crews work on the clean-up.  Look what happened at my parent’s house:
Tree on powerlines at my parent's house.  Hurricane Sandy

I was much luckier.  Only one piece of siding blew off my house and we only lost power for three hours.  My parent’s and some of my close friends are still without electric power.  I feel completely blessed!

If this blog post is a bit late, it’s because I lost my cable connection.  I’ve had no internet and no television for the entire week.   I have to say it was hard at first because I didn’t realize how much time I spent on the internet.  I felt like I lost my favorite blanket or something, “Just call me Linus.”

How would I retrieve my business emails?  How would I post images on my various facebook pages?  How would I get any research done?  How would I work?  Life came to a standstill for me as I struggled to figure out how to get things done.  I tried to make a written list so I wouldn’t forget the many things that I needed to do.

A few days later, the realization hit me that my house was starting to look a bit cleaner.  I had the chance to see one of my best friends whom I haven’t seen in a while. (She came over to shower.)  Since my parents had no power, they moved in with me which gave me the opportunity to spend more time with them.  I finished the book that I was reading that seemed to be taking forever to finish.  A few assignments that I needed to finish were completed.  And…here I sit writing this blog; yet another item on my list that I will soon be able to cross off.

I have learned a very valuable lesson; that my time is important and that there is actually enough time to get things done.  There is a saying that “the devil’s time is idle time.”  I now realize how much time I have spent doing mindless drifting online when I could have been completing tasks and enjoying some of the better things in life.  Budgeting my time will be a new priority.  This will enable me to accomplish so much more and my life will be fuller and richer.  Can you shut your internet off for one week?  Will you become Linus?  What would you do with all that new found free time?

Back in action and making some soup

Alkaline Water

Locating fresh clean water is getting as hard as finding fresh clean food.  Water is essential for health especially since our body is made up of 85 percent water.  It’s   needed to clean and flush our body of toxic waste matter that accumulates in our cells.  How many times have we read that it is beneficial to drink 8 glasses of water a day?   Yes, while it is important to drink water to hydrate the body, it is not necessary to flood the body with too much.  The most important time to drink water during the day is when you first wake up in the morning.  A slightly warmed mug of plain water will flush your bowels and hydrate your cells.  Please heat the water on the stove.  The microwave changes the molecules of the water, which changes the energy it provides to you.  Drinking water during the day, when thirsty or extra hot, is important.  Everyone is different so see what works for you.  Please reach for water to drink instead of fruit juices, sodas etc.
Phoutain - Alkaline Water

A frequently asked question I often hear is what kind of water do you recommend?  Unfortunately, most of us cannot turn on the tap and just drink.  The reason is that most water has become contaminated due to run-off of fertilizers and chemicals that have seeped into aquifers.  My suggestion would be for you to review tested reports submitted by your local water company.  They are required to “spot” test and measure contaminates.   Also, you can have your water checked privately by independent companies.   To play it safe, a carbon-based filter system is a good idea.  At the very least, it will remove chlorine.  You can purchase a system that will attach to your kitchen sink and filter out contaminants at any local home improvement store.

That said…I’m not comfortable drinking from the same water source unless, of course, I moved to the wilderness.  Additionally, I do not recommend drinking water out of plastic containers.  The plastic contains BPA which enters your system and disrupts your hormones. Besides, they are a huge waste!   For some variety, alkaline water stores are opening in many towns.  Phountain Water is the name of a store based out of Long Island which carries this type of water.   There you can buy gallons of alkaline water in glass bottles.  Alkaline water is higher in PH and therefore helps to keep the body in acid/alkaline balance.  When our body becomes too acidic (due to eating denatured foods, etc.) our energy levels can plummet and we can become prone to yeast, bacteria, germs and illness.  Whenever I am in the area, I refill my glass containers.  I do not drink it every day….like I said, I like a variety.  Look in your local yellow pages for an alkaline water store near you or, if on Long Island, visit Phountain Water: http://www.phountainhealth.com/

Risky Business

When was the last time you danced?  I don’t mean at your Cousin Vinnie’s wedding!  What  I mean is the last time you put on your favorite music, turned up the volume and let your spirit soar?  When was the last time you felt free?  Wouldn’t you like to forget about your responsibilities, stress and the everyday minor annoyances of life for just a little while?  It’s time to feed that inner child from within.  So take those old records off the shelf…..

Okay, you probably don’t still have your old record player.  The good news is technology has made it super easy to find just about any song you want to hear.  You can take your wireless laptop into any room and find just about any song on YouTube.   Dancing is very liberating. I must advise, however, to try this when nobody is home.  The reason is that I want you to feel uninhibited to express yourself without the judgment of others.  Dancing is a great way to burn extra calories while getting your heart rate up. Dancing will build up your strength, muscles and endurance.  You may find you get winded pretty quickly.  Pause and take some deep breaths.  Please do not overdo it.  You are probably not 20 anymore.  It is important to periodically monitor your pulse to make sure you are in range.  Dancing makes you feel grounded and centered and brings out the kid in you. Please don’t forget to do some warm-up stretches beforehand.  It is very easy to pull a muscle.  Again, you can find a wide array of warm-up exercises on YouTube.  Do you remember Jane Fonda?  All her exercise routines are on YouTube.  You have no excuses!

Let's get physical!

Have fun and let foot loose.  It’s Risky Business, but someone has to do it!!

Why prevention is the best defense against the flu…

It’s that time of the year again.  No...I’m not referring to the holidays; I’m referring to the onslaught of signage and newspaper articles recommending a yearly flu shot.  Everywhere we look, we are bombarded with reminders to have that injection.  It insults my soul to see banners on the road advertising for this.  I cannot begin to describe how much this bothers me.  So much so, that I find myself knocking over signs whenever I am near them.

Yes!  I knocked this one down!  And...I'm proud of it!

I decided to pay a visit to a Riteaid to find out what the ingredients were in the flu shot.  After all, why would anybody subject themselves to an injection not knowing what was in it?  I kindly asked the woman behind the counter and was handed a piece of paper from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Center for Disease Control and Prevention which discussed potential reactions to the flu shot, not the ingredients.  I kindly informed her that this does not list the ingredients.  She then handed me the package insert which also contained no list of ingredients.  I left disillusioned and decided to try CVS.

I approached the woman behind the counter and was again handed the Vaccine Information Sheet from the CDC.  I kindly told her that this does not contain the ingredients, can I please have a list of the ingredients.  She told me that the vaccine contained H1N1, H3N1 and BTexas 6 2011.  She then said rather uncomfortably, “If you are wondering whether or not the vaccine contains thimerosal, it has a trace.”  I then looked at her and said, “How can you give an injection when you have no idea what is in it?!”

Am I losing my mind!  What is wrong with people?  How can we be so trusting to allow someone to inject something into our bodies when THEY don’t even know what is in it?

Want to prevent the flu?  Build up your immune system!  It is important to stay away from sugar and processed foods that are laced with chemicals.  How can your body fight germs if it has to constantly work to rid itself of chemicals?  It is important this time of the year, if you live in a colder climate, to take Vitamin D3 supplementation.  To find out how much you need, ask your doctor to check your Vitamin D3 levels and suggest the dosage you should be on.  In addition, an extra dose of Vitamin C will help the body increase the number of infection-fighting white blood cells.

Here are some home remedies that can help:  Lemon and honey, chamomile tea, peppermint tea, elderflowers, ginger, turmeric, probiotics or how about a bowl of homemade chicken broth.

Lastly, please get fresh air!  This is something you need to do year round.  Staying in an enclosed area for long periods of time is detrimental to your health.  Who cares if it is cold outside!  Suck it up and open your windows!

Enjoying super fresh air in Vermont!
